Are you an experienced Android Developer who enjoys building apps that users rely on every day for their safety and security? In this role, you will work on Android applications, maintaining existing Java code while developing new functionality in Kotlin. You will join a compact Agile Scrum team and take significant responsibility for the quality, stability and continued development of the applications.
As an Android Engineer, you will work on the continued development of mobile applications for smart home security. You will work with both an existing Java codebase and a modern Kotlin application. This means combining the improvement and maintenance of legacy software with the development of new functionality. You will actively contribute to technical decisions and help ensure that the applications remain reliable, scalable and user-friendly.
Your work will include technologies such as the Android View System, XML layouts and modern architectural principles including Clean Architecture and MVVM. You will also work with technologies such as Dagger Hilt, Navigation Component and various Firebase services. Location functionality, geofencing and real-time communication may also be part of your responsibilities.
As part of the Scrum team, you will take ownership of features from design through to delivery. You will write and maintain unit tests, contribute to UI and end-to-end testing, and support CI/CD processes using tools including Fastlane, Firebase App Distribution and SonarCloud. You will work closely with colleagues while having the freedom to independently tackle technical challenges and implement improvements.
